A growing collection of videos. made by teachers, which demonstrate Common Core teaching practices being used with real students.

News about tools that are being developed to support the implementation of the Common Core Math Standards

This site collects lessons and tasks from a variety of sources. The way it works is, you click on a specific standard and you get links to teaching resources for each standard.

Illustrative Mathematics provides tools that support implementation of the standards. One resource to check out - Illustrative Mathematics provides an "illustration" for all of the math content standards. These illustrations are examples of problems that demonstrate each content standard. If you find yourself not such what a specific content standard means or how it is different from a similar standard, you should check out this resource.

This site provides free, high-quality resources to educators now doing the hard work of implementing the higher standards of the Common Core era.

"Our Students. Their Moment" is the motto of this site, developed by the New York State Department of Education, designed to support the K-12 system across New York State to implement the Common Core.

These questions are teaching tools.  The sample questions emphasize the instructional shifts demanded by the Common Core. For each grade level and subject, NYS Ed has provided approximately 12 questions. These questions include multiple choice, short constructed response, and extended constructed response. They were developed primarily for the purposes of communications and training. They are not test samplers, and are not meant to mirror full-length assessments.

  • Educators Evaluating Quality Instructional Products(EQuIP) - EQuIP is a coalition of educators from Massachusetts, New York and Rhode Island who have come together to create tools to help themselves to evaluate the quality of Common Core aligned materials (tasks, lessons, units, modules). One of the most useful tools here is the Tri-State Quality Review Rubric for Lessons & Units: Mathematics.  This rubric is useful in creating lessons, as well as in evaluating other lesson plans and curricula. The tools are designed to review the quality of materials (tasks, lesson, units, modules) for the purpose of receiving critical feedback for improvement.
